At the 2025 Adelaide International, both ATP and WTA events will be played. Just like the Brisbane International, which concluded on January 5, Adelaide International will feature ATP 250 events and WTA 500 events.

Several top players from both WTA and ATP are not participating in the tournament. Women’s World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, who clinched the Brisbane International, skipped the event and so has World No.2 Iga Swiatek and World No. 3 Coco Gauff, both of who played the United Cup final on January 5.

Men’s World No.1 Jannik Sinner, No.2 Alexander Zverev, and No.3 Carlos Alcaraz also skipped the tournament. Their absence has given other talented players a chance to clinch their first title, plus they can also warm up well before arriving in Melbourne for the Australian Open which starts right after the conclusion of Adelaide International.
