Music industry icon Adele represented every other sports fan when she stopped a packed concert to stream the Paris Olympics. The ‘Hello’ singer is currently on her day job in Munich, Germany. Her series of shows started only on 2 August, but she apparently needed time to watch Sha’Carri Richardson.
The Olympic women’s 100-meter race schedule clashed when Adele took to the stage on Saturday. Nevertheless, the singer had a perfectly good solution for it. Adele stopped her concert and broadcasted the 11-second race as the crowd fell into a hush. The stadium was an accurate representation of what netizens called it, “if they wanted to, they would.”
The women’s 100-meter race featured Julien Alfred, Sha’carri Richardson, and Melissa Jefferson. The race began, and in just 11 seconds, Julien Alfred took home a gold. Richardson bagged the silver medal and Jefferson won the bronze medal. The coffee break was over as apparently Adele got back to singing.
The sad news for Adele is that the singer has to perform two shows a week in Germany until the end of the month. However, the Grammy-award-winning singer is not the only one with Paris on her mind. Many celebrities and sports enthusiasts alike have taken their bags to Paris to watch the ultimate showdown.
Sha’Carri Richardson snapped back at a reporter
Sha’Carri Richardson fired back at a reporter during a post-race press interview of the round 1 of 100m race at the Paris Olympics. The reporter had asked her about her feelings about competing on a global platform and being a ‘changed person’ after the Tokyo Olympics. Richardson’s countenance visibly changed after the question was asked.
Standing here, while we talk about the current day, today, here in Paris, it is a phenomenal feeling, we're not talking about the past. We're talking about what is happening right now.Sha’Carri Richardson in a post-race press after 100m Round-1
Sha’Carri Richardson was handed a month suspension, which prevented her from competing in the Tokyo Olympics. The fans seemed to grasp the gravity of the situation. While some thought the interviewer meant no harm with the question, others called out citing the mistake from the reporter.
