Shaquille O’Neal was back at Kaseya Center (formerly American Airlines Arena) to watch UFC 314 recently. The former 2006 NBA champion with Miami was received cordially by the Heat. World-famous streamer and Gen Z viral sensation Adin Ross was also present as the UFC’s ambassador to the youngest generation.
Adin Ross and Shaquille O’Neal have had a chequered history leading up to today. Just a couple of weeks back, the Florida-based streamer had caused consternation to O’Neal by knocking some M&Ms off his hand as the two were attending a DAZN Fight Night event. O’Neal, who likes keeping childish appearances and grudges up, seemed to still be smarting with Ross. Or at least, he appeared that way.
The 24-year-old Ross, who often acts as a cultural gatekeeper, has struck up a rapport with various celebrities by being unsavoury like this. Some can get rubbed the wrong way, although it is unclear whether O’Neal is serious with his threats of beating him up. The 3-time NBA Finals MVP seemed to accentuate his heatedness at Ross’ actions from a few weeks back at UFC 314 for dramatic effect.
What the f**k are you looking at? I’m going to f**king kill you.
Shaquille O’Neal said to Adin Ross
Ross, who plays the straight man’s role immaculately in these situations, kept egging O’Neal on.
Then do it, bro! Stand up and do something! Stand up and do something. Do something about it! Fight me! Nah, you’re going to go to sleep, old man. You’re unc status now. (Shaquille O’Neal swipes his finger around his neck) Oh s**t! All right. Nah, nah! Come on, man! (Shaquille O’Neal swipes his finger around his neck once again) All right.

Soon after, Ross also threatened to sue O’Neal for hitting him as the latter warned him while walking past. “Please do it, I can’t wait to sue,” said Adin Ross as O’Neal drew closer to him.

Adin Ross and Shaquille O’Neal were able to watch a great UFC fight
Alexander Volkanovski became the first UFC male fighter to win a championship fight beyond the age of 35. His featherweight title bout with Diego Lopes lasted all five rounds, showcasing both men’s combat skills to the fore. Volkanovski seized the advantage during the first round with some heavy right-hand action, adding a takedown at the end.
Volkanovski continued to stay on the offensive in the following round, hitting Lopes harder and faster than he got hit. Volkanovski also sent Lopes stumbling onto the cage in this round; however, Lopes got his lick back by dropping the former to the canvas as the clock expired in the second.
A third round ensued, which was much more measured following the high tempo of the first two rounds. Volkanovski maintained his advantage, and let a lot of scorers believe he had taken the fight by 3-0 at that point. However, Lopes went on an extended offensive run during the fourth round, getting Volkanovski in the eye and forcing him to operate on the defensive for a couple of minutes.
However, Lopes couldn’t keep Volkanovski pinned for the whole of the fourth round as the latter started to adjust his eyesight. After the breather ahead of the fifth round, Volkanovski returned with renewed energy to hold Lopes off and successfully clinch the featherweight title. It would mark the return of Volkanovski to the summit about 14 months after Ilia Topuria knocked him out in February 2024.
