Adrien Broner returned to the ring against Blair Cobbs, but it didn’t go the way he expected. Before the fight, he spoke intensively about his confidence and even flexed that he was in amazing physical shape. However, all of this was futile during their actual fight, as Broner was comprehensively defeated. In addition to being knocked down several times, Broner also got his tooth knocked out.
In the first round, Cobbs had already begun to set the pace with his jabs while Broner was trying to settle in. This continued in the second out, and at one point Broner threw a left hook, which missed. However, Blair was able to land a counterpunch, which sent Broner to the canvas. To a certain degree, he was sent flying away and even reported losing a tooth at this moment and his mouthpiece. This was not the end of the fight, though, since Broner got back up and continued to fight.
In the next few rounds, Broner began to throw very few punches and appeared to be more focused on his defense. However, in the fifth round, Adrien Broner attempted to fight back, but Cobbs responded to this with a flurry of punches. While Broner kept up with this, he appeared as a moving target since he barely landed any significant shots.
In the seventh round, Broner lost his mouthpiece again after being hit with a devastating body shot and again got it knocked out of his face in the same round. Subsequently, Broner continued to fight until the final bell.

Many people thought that this fight would be the bout where Broner made a comeback. However, fans were left in dismay after witnessing Broner get beat down across the fight. During the buildup of the fight, Broner and Cobbs had a lot of back-and-forth during their press conference. As such, Broner had claimed that he would annihilate his opponent inside the ring. However, all of that talk proved to be futile during their actual fight since it went the other way around.

Fans reflected on how Broner’s illustrious career has now seemingly come to an end. In addition, they expressed how they believed that he would retire and hang his gloves for good. Furthermore, fans remarked on how Broner spoke like a gangster only to be knocked down.
