The wrestling world is buzzing once again with news that numerous AEW wrestlers are on WWE’s radar. Top AEW stars like Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill made the jump to WWE and found great success. According to reports, WWE is showing significant interest in several AEW wrestlers.
According to reports from PWInsider, multiple sources within WWE have indicated a high level of interest in several AEW wrestlers, particularly those whose contracts are nearing expiration or who have been off TV for some time. Some of the names mentioned include Daniel Garcia, the Lucha Bros, Ricky Starks, and others.
History suggests that moving from AEW to WWE can be beneficial for many stars. Cody Rhodes left the Jacksonville-based company to return to WWE and finally completed his story at WrestleMania XL. Another notable example is Jade Cargill, who made a strong debut at the Royal Rumble PLE and went on to win the tag titles.
Perhaps the most significant move from AEW to WWE is CM Punk’s return after nearly nine years. Other notable stars like Nathan Frazer and Ethan Page are thriving in WWE, with the latter currently holding the NXT Championship. Only time will tell who will debut at the Stamford-based company shortly.
A deep look at the Lucha Brothers’ current contract situation with AEW
The Lucha Bros, consisting of Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix, have AEW contracts that are expiring soon. According to several reports, they might be heading to WWE once their contracts are up, which is expected to happen sometime in August or September.

According to Bryan Alvarez from F4WOnline, the Lucha Bros will soon end their ties with the Jacksonville-based company. AEW originals Penta and Fenix wrestled at the very first pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, back in 2019. During their tenure in Tony Khan‘s company, they won numerous titles as a tag team.
They last wrestled on the July 26th episode of AEW Rampage, where they defeated Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen in a tag team match. Both brothers have competed in various promotions outside of AEW, such as Lucha Underground, CMLL, AAA, and more. If they do end up debuting in WWE, it will be interesting to see their dynamic with the lucha legend himself, Rey Mysterio.
