A rematch between the former best friends happened at AEW Worlds End. With the TNT Championship on the line, Adam Copeland battled Christian Cage. With a No Disqualification stipulation, the match was anticipated, and, oh boy, it did deliver. The voice of chair shots resonated in the arena, while the bruises of kendo sticks could be felt by both veterans. But a brutal spot happened as a flaming table was set to eliminate the interruption.

Towards the closing moments of the match, The Rated-R Superstar was unleashed as the shenanigans favored Cage’s dominance. With Nick Wayne and his mother, Shayna Wayne‘s, constant interruptions, it cost Copeland the perfect pinfall. To put an end to the distractions, Copeland used the lighter fluid on a table and reignited the table. Nick stood on the apron while Adam saw a moment to powerbomb him through the lit table.

Fortunately for Wayne, he was spared from hitting the fire directly. Only his lower back hit the table and flipped, extinguishing the fire. Wayne sold his bump perfectly and rolled down the floor to show the damage.

The idea for setting the table on fire came from Christian and Wayne’s end, as they had first ignited the table. But to their surprise, it was they who later suffered its wrath. With that, Adam at least eliminated Nick from the picture, applied a Killswitch to Cage, and won the TNT Championship (reigning for a shorter while).

Killswitch sacrificed his TNT title shot for his patriarch, Christian Cage

In the ZERO HOUR: Worlds End, a 20-man Battle Royal was meant for a future TNT Championship title shot. With 19 other men looking to put him down from the very start, Killswitch previously known as Luchasaurus still managed to win the contest. This contract was brought up later in the main show when Christian Cage lost the TNT title.

Adam Copeland, who had newly won the title was attacked by Killswitch from behind. A lariat followed by chokeslams put him down, giving him the perfect opportunity to cash in his title shot. But Cage thought of regaining the championship by putting his name on Killswitch’s contract.

Killswitch did not readily give away the contract to Cage. But with his convincing and an undisclosed ‘whisper’, Killswitch looked down and passed on the contract unwillingly. A bout was quickly made official between Christian and Adam, which saw the former smash Copeland with a spear to pin him for the win.
