UFC has started the year with a banger. UFC 297 received massive hype as it was headlined by Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis. However, it was Chris Curtis who caught the attention of the WWE Universe. The Action Man entered the arena in front of the Canadian crowd to the music of one of their own, WWE Hall of Famer, Adam “Edge” Copeland.
The special entrance at the Scotiabank Arena stirred the fans. Curtis was present during the press conference, where he was asked about his decision to do the special entrance. He was also asked about imitating the iconic pose of Randy Orton. The 36-year-old seemed elated by the questions and proceeded to answer in excitement.
I did. Thank you. I was like you know what who is from Canada that I know? Edge is from Canada and I was like, 'f**k yeah, I like it.' I just thought Randy Orton and once again, I'm a giant child and I like choreograph things.Chris Curtis on using Edge’s theme song and posing like Randy Orton
As can be inferred, Curtis was high on making the Canadian crowd jump to its feet. What could’ve been a better way to use Alter Bridge’s ‘Metalingus’ synonymous with the Rated-R Superstar? It seems he tapped into Rated RKO’s history as he also tried posing like The Viper.
Curtis made it clear that choosing Edge’s song and Randy’s pose was worth it. He even mentioned how he looks forward to returning to Canada. It was a fabulous night for the 5-foot-10 fighter after an impressive three-round win at UFC 297.
AEW’s Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland discusses his way of finding his voice
Wrestling fans are familiar with the transition that their favorite superstars often make from the world of wrestling to acting. In the case of AEW’s Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland, despite not completely leaving his wrestling role, he has had a couple of interesting acting projects. He recently sat with Busted Open Radio and talked about finding his voice that made him comfortable in the realm of acting.
I wouldn't say anything in terms of speaking ever came naturally to me. That took a lot of woodshedding to find my voice, to find comfort in that. Acting was never a goal of mine. It fell accidentally into my lap after I retired.Adam Copeland during his interview
Additionally, Copeland revealed how he went to school for radio and television, which helped him to some extent. He saw acting and wrestling as different branches of the same tree. He not only received creative freedom but also pursued his love of storytelling.
Copeland recalled how his acts with The Brood got him over; however, it was only after he and Christian broke off as a tandem that the fans recognized them. It feels like Copeland’s career is slowly coming full circle, as he recently engaged in a captivating match against Christian Cage. Both men would make the crowd go bonkers as they locked horns for the TNT Title.
