AEW head honcho Tony Khan went on a furious rant when AEW Dynamite went head-to-head against WWE’s NXT. Leading up to the match, both companies fired on all cylinders, hyping their shows filled with megastars. However, NXT defeated Dynamite in terms of ratings by a huge margin. However, this did not sit well with Tony Khan, and he went on a streak of controversial shots towards Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.
After almost a week, former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho decided to give his opinion on Tony Khan’s comments against his former employers. While speaking on the The Messenger, Jericho said, “I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires. I’ve been working for billionaires for 25 years. At this point, you can’t control Tony Khan. He’s going to do what he wants to do, and God bless him.”
The former WWE veteran also said that he cannot make Tony Khan do anything and that the latter can do whatever he pleases. Jericho stated that Khan is his boss and so he cannot forbid the AEW President to use his phone. Therefore, the 52-year-old’s stand on the matter was that Tony Khan can say whatever he wants, and it is not his place to tell him to stop that.
Chris Jericho, an industry veteran, has been a part of AEW since Day 1. The EVPs and Tony Khan himself have revealed multiple times that Jericho was crucial for them in their initial years as a wrestling promotion. The 52-year-old was also the first AEW world champion, which he won after defeating Kenny Omega in 2019.
