It looks like the problems for CM Punk do not seem to be ending. After spending months at home recovering from an injury while also being involved in a backstage controversy against The Elite, Punk is back in the news yet again. This time around, it is against former FTW champion Jack Perry. At All In, the two allegedly got into a physical confrontation backstage.
Bryan Alvarez is now reporting that, due to the altercation, both parties have been suspended from AEW. This means that CM Punk and Jack Perry will be out of action for the foreseeable future. This does not look good, especially for CM Punk, as he is currently the Real World Champion and AEW is scheduled to have All Out 2023 in Chicago next week.
CM Punk is worshipped in Chicago. Therefore, his missing out on a match at All Out will not look good for fans or the company. However, it is being reported that both men will have to sit out until the investigation is completed. This is not the first time Punk has been suspended from AEW. At All Out 2022, Punk got into a fight with The Elite, resulting in the suspension of all men involved.
The suspension cost all the men the titles they had won at All Out last year. Therefore, fans are wishing this should not happen again, as CM Punk has not had a title run with the championship since winning it for the first time in AEW. The first time, he had to relinquish the title due to an injury.
CM Punk threatens to quit AEW at All In
Since returning to wrestling in 2021, CM Punk has constantly been in the spotlight for controversy. This was reignited at All In when Punk got into a backstage brawl with Jack Perry. Tony Khan almost confirmed the altercation in the media scrum, saying that there was an incident and the investigation is currently ongoing. However, he did not make any more comments on that.
However, rumors are now suggesting that CM Punk is not happy with the constant problems that are surrounding him in the promotion. Therefore, the former multi-time champion has threatened that he might quit AEW during the heat of the moment at All In in London. Punk wrestled Samoa Joe in the opening contest of the night. He came out on the winning side, getting a victory over Joe with a Pepsi Plunge.
