The AEW All-In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium proved to be a nightmare for CM Punk. Everyone knows about his physical altercation with Jack Perry before heading out to wrestle against Samoa Joe. Well, the match was very competitive, and their wrestling history dating back to 2004 added to the opener. However, while fighting at the ringside, Punk was seen busted open. Fans thought that the opening on his forehead was a result of a certain maneuver.
However, that wasn’t the case. Instead, leaked footage from All In‘s commentary desk shows a grounded CM Punk headbutting against a blade to allow the blood to appear near his eyebrows. He did the blade job while his head was covered under the table. However, some front-row fans were in a position to capture the entire thing. That pretty much explains why Punk’s face turned bloody during his brawl with Joe outside the ring.
In a physical battle for the AEW Real World Championship, The Best in the World prevailed after hitting the Pepsi Plunge on Joe. While heading backstage, Punk raised his hands to the sky, with security personnel escorting him to the gorilla position. There were reports of Punk lunging at Tony Khan after being furious over his fiery confrontation with the former Jungle Boy. The incident prompted an internal investigation to decipher the actual culprit.
At the week’s end, AEW President Tony Khan publicly announced CM Punk’s contract termination. Khan cited a unanimous decision by a disciplinary committee regarding Punk’s tenure. It’s been a few weeks since Punk’s expulsion from the Jacksonville-based promotion. His firing coincided with WWE Payback and sparked discussion within WWE.
CM Punk has maintained a pin-drop silence post AEW firing

For those wondering, it’s highly possible that Punk doesn’t have a non-compete clause at the moment. Since the termination of his obligations, all the terms and conditions don’t stand upright. There hasn’t been any response from Chicago’s own over his dramatic release. There have been rumors that the fans could expect an ‘explosive response’ from the former 2-time AEW World Champion.
WWE President Nick Khan recently commented on CM Punk and revealed whether the company would bring him back. Without giving much, Khan expressed his mutual respect for Phil Brooks’ successful run in WWE. Further, the WWE CFO wished nothing but the best of luck to Punk in whatever he plans to do next. No one could decipher much from those words by Mr. Khan, as he professionally handled the interview.
