All Elite Wrestling has been on a ride recently. The promotion had its biggest event in history, All In, at Wembley Stadium, London, last month. However, the internal management of the Jacksonville-based promotion has decided to follow in the footsteps of WWE. According to some reports, they are moving to a monthly pay-per-view schedule.
According to the report, the company led by Tony Khan has been internally discussing holding another pay-per-view this year after Full Gear. The speculation is for the block of November to hold the new event. However, the decision is still in the air, as the show can move to the last week of December.
AEW has been contemplating moving to the monthly schedule. The promotion is all set to have its next pay-per-view in October. AEW Wrestle Dream will take place on the 1st of October followed by AEW Full Gear on the 18th of November. As of now, there is no event scheduled for December.
According to various sources, a new pay-per-view will take place at the end of December. It is going to be interesting to see the newest addition to the AEW event on the schedule. This new addition to the programming is similar to that of WWE, which holds a premium live event every month.
Jim Ross comments on AEW 12-month PPV plans
AEW is highly rumored to move to a monthly pay-per-view format very soon. However, pro wrestling veteran and legend Jim Ross believes it will force the Tony Khan-led promotion to build the storyline every month. He believes that it will decrease the anticipation of the fans for a pay-per-view.

During the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross addressed the rumors of AEW leaving the quarterly format to move to a monthly pay-per-view format. He said, “I like the old format because the companies get an opportunity to build anticipation for that pay-per-view and the investment that fans need to make to enjoy it“.
The pro wrestling legend believes that the old format is better than the monthly format. However, he understands the decision of Tony Khan as well. He went on to say, “You’ve got to change with the times.” Therefore, Jim Ross revealed that he trusts the idea of the AEW President for the company’s programming.
