AEW is off to a huge start with their PLEs for 2024. Last night saw the AEW Revolution emanate from Greensboro Coliseum, which had a stacked match card. The second match bout on the main show saw Eddie Kingston defend his Continental Crown Championship. In his sixth defense of the titles, Kingston faced his classic adversary, Bryan Danielson, and settled down their discourse with a handshake.

An exclusive look at Kingston and Danielson’s talk was uploaded by AEW on their X handle. The moment saw The American Dragon being checked on by AEW medicals at the backstage. Eddie sat beside The King of the Bums and stated that he got all sh*t from Bryan to get himself motivated. Still, the handshake from Danielson to pour respect on the Continental Crown Champ was all that he wanted.

Kingston mentions that earning respect from his peers is what matters to him. Eddie has previously won the respect of Samoa Joe, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli. The Mad King mentioned that championships come and go, but the real legacy Kingston would define is the respect from those boys. The 42-year-old claims to not care about the promoters or the fans but only about real-life respect.

Kingston justified that all these wrestlers are going to talk about him after knowing what he was in the ring. Eddie concluded by saying that he does not want to get more emotional and is prepared to leave the room. His last message had him thanking the four-time WWE Champion for everything with a handshake.

Bryan Danielson’s take on putting the respect on Eddie Kingston

At times, AEW’s in-ring action has taken shape due to the real-life heat between superstars. One of such recent storylines is Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson’s rivalry, which has potentially come to an end. At Revolution 2024, Kingston earned Danielson’s respect, which was depicted with a handshake after their match. In the same exclusive segment, Bryan shed light on how he came to that moment.

The American Dragon stated that he knew how hurt Kingston was due to all his disrespectful behavior. However, there was a moment when Bryan knew that Eddie had outdone him after 20 years of wrestling. That’s when he had an internal moment where he realized the petty thing that he kept on holding.

It may have taken longer, right? But the things that he has battled through and the things that he has struggled through. I should have given him my respect a long time ago!
Bryan Danielson on respecting Eddie Kingston

The things that Kingston has battled through made Danielson realize that respect should have been given a long time ago. The 42-year-old feels guilty for not seeing that opportunity to regard The Mad King. However, his attitude toward getting through his struggles is also the same as that of Kingston. Bryan is not only proud of Eddie and thus went for a handshake, but he also feels good to have overcome his issues.
