The incident that changed the course of CM Punk‘s career was moments before his AEW All In London. The Best in the World’s backstage fight with Jack Perry resulted in his termination from the very promotion. However, the trajectory of his infamous career reached its peak months later, when he arrived in WWE. Taking a look back at AEW All In London 2023, Perry reportedly still feels unapologetic about it.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported that the former Jungle Boy had asked for his AEW release. However, his wish was denied and he has been suspended since August 27, 2023. According to Perry, he had not heard from Tony Khan in two months since departing from Wembley Stadium. Jack even stated that he had not texted sorry and told Khan’s lawyers that he would step forward to keep the contract.

It was in November before Full Gear, when the AEW President set up an in-person meeting with Perry. The plans discussed were about the 26-year-old’s potential return to AEW in December of that year. Even in that meeting, it seems that Perry never asked for forgiveness or apologized to AEW. However, those plans were scrapped within a week as soon as Punk made his WWE return at the Survivor Series.

The Scapegoat then showed up at the NJPW Battle of the Valley and tore his AEW contract, showing his hatred for them. Khan is currently running the company at an impressive level. CM Punk, on the other hand, is away from the WWE ring due to his triceps injury. But his appearance on Raw and even at WrestleMania 40 would make headlines and make him relevant again.

Drew McIntyre takes a shot at CM Punk’s ‘real glass’ controversy

In the recent times of WWE, the smoothest transition between personas was seen with Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior has gone out of his way to prove his worth and has taken brutal shots at every opponent. One of those examples is CM Punk, whom he has injured.

In a recent interview with The Ringer, McIntyre claimed that The Best in the World is made of real glass. He meant that Punk is not as tough as he might appear to be. The ‘real glass’ statement is a dig at his AEW disagreements when Punk denied its use for Jack Perry.

I want that match with him, but I don’t believe he’ll be in a physical condition to wrestle Drew McIntyre. He’s literally made of glass, real glass, and I’ll break him.

In McInyre’s further comments, he compared himself with the Chicago-made star and claimed that he even brings eyeballs with a big payday. Moreover, he insisted that he could tear apart Punk in a promo battle as well as physically when it comes to exchanging blows in the ring. He wishes to have a match with Punk, but the latter’s current medical condition is pushing it back.
