Amid Mercedes Mone‘s heavily rumored AEW debut at Big Business in her hometown of Boston on March 13, she has seemingly accepted NJPW star Giulia‘s challenge. In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, the Strong Women’s Champion yearned to defend her title against The Boss, for whom the gold was devised in the first place. Giulia’s ambitions caught Mone’s attention, as the latter asked the Italian-Japanese star to bring it.

While doing so, Mercedes put heavy emphasis on “Big Business,” pretty much confirming her landing spot in Massachusetts. Meanwhile, Giulia is the one for whom WWE has maintained its interest for a while. Per Fightful Select, those at WWE viewed her as a priority acquisition. Her ongoing contract with Stardom ends at the end of March, and she’s not renewing it.

Also, for those wondering how Guilia would be able to wrestle Mercedes Mone, it’s not far-fetched. Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Mone can continue working with NJPW while staying signed with AEW. As for Guilia, her next destination still remains a matter of discord. Though she seems good to debut under the WWE umbrella, she’s been brought up in AEW circles as well.

As of this past spring, people in the Tony Khan-owned promotion were talking of Giulia as someone who could appear in the company. At this point, it might be too much of an ask to dream of having Mone take on the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion in AEW. On March 10, at a STARDOM event, Giulia will defend her title against CMLL’s Stephanie Vaquer. It would be interesting to see if the English-born wrestler manages to keep her gold intact.

Mercedes Mone to be a presenter at The Anime Awards in Tokyo

As of the moment, Mercedes Mone is in Japan. She’ll be a presenter at this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards, scheduled for tomorrow in Tokyo. After reaching the Land of the Rising Sun, the former WWE Women’s Champion posed with Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa.

Mone’s stay in Japan isn’t expected to last long due to her highly anticipated AEW debut come March 13. Despite embarking on a new journey in her pro wrestling career, the ex-Sasha Banks hasn’t lost a step with her former colleagues.

She could be found catching up with Bayley every now and then with their recent meet-up staged at this year’s Super Bowl. When Mone made her NJPW debut last year in January, The Role Model was there to back her up. The fans await the next time they’ll get to share the screen inside the squared circle.
