In last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Sting gave a major update regarding his wrestling career. The veteran revealed that he is ready to hang up his boots and is currently in the final stages of his career. The last match of his decorated career will take place at AEW Revolution 2024. That said, The Icon received a major surprise this week with the shocking AEW debut of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

After Sting’s announcement last week, it was told that AEW President Tony Khan has a retirement gift in store for the wrestling legend. Speculation started making the rounds that Sting could presumably be the first-ever “AEW Hall of Famer.” However, Khan had something else planned in his mind. He stunned the 64-year-old by bringing in his old rival, Ric Flair, to All Elite Wrestling.

The segment kicked off with a brief conversation between Sting and Tony Schiavone. The former extended his utmost gratitude to Tony Khan for giving him a chance at AEW four years ago. A few moments later, Schiavone pulled the curtains on Khan’s surprise gift as Ric Flair’s music hit the arena. The Nature Boy made his way to the ring and hugged it out with his old rival, Sting.

Ric Flair and Sting had a long-standing rivalry from the NWA days in the 1980s, which later extended to WCW and TNA in the 1990s and 2000s. The 74-year-old grabbed the microphone and said that he wished to ride it out with Sting. It has yet to be known whether Flair will be a regular on AEW programming or if he will make sporadic appearances until Stinger’s retirement.

Is Ric Flair the mystery partner of Sting and Darby Allin at AEW Full Gear ?

The Nature Boy made a shocking appearance on AEW Dynamite this week. The 74-year-old turned out to be the special gift that Tony Khan had planned for Sting. It appears that the two veterans will sail off to sunset in AEW together, and before doing so, there is a chance that Flair will work his final wrestling match alongside Sting in AEW.

In the recent episode of Dynamite, Flair and Sting had an emotional reunion. The two legends went for a heartwarming embrace. A few moments later, Christian Cage came out to crash the party. The reigning TNT champion took shots at the WWE Hall of Famer and later challenged Sting and Darby Allin for a six-man tag team match at the upcoming AEW Full Gear on November 18.

The trio of Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne will take on Sting, Darby Allin and a third partner of their choosing. Although it wasn’t explicitly told that Flair could be the third partner, one shouldn’t rule out its possibility either. The latter also recently admitted to wanting to work one last wrestling match. Later on in the show, Darby and Sting approached Adam Copeland to help them out. However, Adam looked reluctant to fight his best friend, Christian.
