Saraya created history this past weekend at All In. She became the first women’s wrestler to win the AEW and WWE titles in the division. Moreover, the 31-year-old achieved this moment in front of her family and friends in her home country. Recently, a clip of the new champion receiving a standing ovation from a crowd has been making the rounds.
The former WWE superstar was not present at this week’s Dynamite tapings. However, she did not miss out on the opportunity to gloat about her victory online. In her short video, Saraya raised her Women’s title whilst walking through a corridor. Furthermore, there were dozens of fans present who applauded her as she shouted, “This is my house.”
“Champ doing champ things,” wrote the formerly known Paige on her X account. She is enjoying her time in the Tony Khan-led promotion since joining last year. In the post-scrum of the event, The Outcasts member teased a future battle against Mercedes Mone. The latter was in attendance in the Wembley crowd, which sparked rumors of her AEW debut.
Saraya’s next appearance on the show will play a key role in determining her next opponent. Furthermore, she will have to deal with the aftermath of the tension with Toni Storm. Therefore, her title reign has lots of potential for helping the much-scrutinized women’s division in the company.
Why was Saraya pulled from AEW Dynamite?
The absence of Saraya surprised fans on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite. The Outcasts leader arguably had the biggest moment of her career at AEW All In. She defeated Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Toni Storm to capture the Women’s Championship on the night to a huge pop.
Furthermore, Swerve Scott was also not in the most recent edition as well. As a result, Dave Meltzer revealed the reason behind their absences this past week. “Saraya and Swerve were pulled from the show for illness reasons,” mentioned the Wrestling Observer Newsletter journalist.
However, the severity of their sickness was not specified by Dave Meltzer. But online rumors have suggested that Saraya will be back in time for the next episode of Dynamite. Moreover, fans can expect her to be prominently featured for the foreseeable future.
