AEW Wrestler Saraya is a huge name in women’s wrestling. From starting her career at 13 in her family’s wrestling promotion in the UK to becoming WWE’s youngest Divas Champion at 22, Saraya’s story is a fairytale. And none other than Dwayne Johnson brought this fairytale to the silver screen!

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Saraya discussed her first encounter with Dwayne Johnson and how they got talking about a movie based on her life.

Saraya revealed that Dwayne Johnson told her she is winning the Championship on debut, and she immediately broke down in tears. Recalling the moment, the former Divas Champion said, “I go to his locker room, I walk in, and he’s just like, ‘Hey, I’m DJ.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I know! ‘This is crazy! Hello. I’m Paige.'”

She further added, “He was like, ‘You know, I watched your documentary that your family had.’ He was like, ‘I couldn’t sleep one night while filming ‘Fast & Furious,” which, thank God for insomnia because it helped me here. But yeah, he watched it, and he just fell in love with my family”

Saraya in ring return went well at AEW Full Gear

The former Divas Champion currently calls AEW her house. She made her in-ring return after being forced to retire five years ago due to a neck injury. 

The former NXT Women’s Champion fought Britt Breaker at AEW Full Gear, her first match in over five years. Many fans praised the match because it was so fantastic, and that Saraya was making her return to the ring further added to its credibility. While there was some ring rust on Saraya, she will definitely shake it all off when she steps foot in the squared cirlcle next time.

Despite not having any match experience for five years, Saraya triumphed over Dr. Britt Baker. She appears to be returning to in-ring competition full-time, and who knows, she might unseat the current AEW Women’s Champion. Watch to see what Tony Khan does next with her.
