Tony Khan’s deplorable actions reportedly augment CM Punk’s happiness to be away from All Elite Wrestling
CM Punk is apparently happy to be at bay with AEW considering Tony Khan's farcical actions on social media.

Ever since AEW was upended by NXT in this week’s head-to-head battle, Tony Khan has lost control. Prior to D-Day, he was busy taking shots at WWE and Vince McMahon. It was almost like he knew what could happen once the ratings came out and was just trying to gain a couple of likes on X. It has prompted his former employee, CM Punk, to offer his two-cents on the matter.
According to Haus of Wrestling, a source from Punk’s camp told the outlet that stuff like Tony Khan’s rampant spree on social media is exactly what makes him happy being away from AEW. How CM Punk was ousted from the company isn’t a clandestine matter. Tony made sure he made a hubbub before officially ejecting the former AEW World Champion from his promotion. Since then, The Best in the World hasn’t issued a word on his firing.
However, it appears he’s elated to be out of that place. What exactly went down between Punk and Khan was a pure mess. There will always be two sides to a coin. Tony had alleged Punk to be fatal to his health; however, the 44-year-old didn’t say a word in his defense just yet. It’s unknown at this point whether Punk even cares about his former boss anymore.
Coming back to Khan, he even dragged The Undertaker and John Cena into the fold and felt ashamed that those legends had to appear on a WWE show that had viewers under a million. That was just too much, and people within AEW were reportedly unhappy with their boss. Some of them even wanted Tony to get off his social media.
CM Punk’s WWE return has reportedly been disapproved
After the reports suggested that CM Punk is in talks with WWE, there is something to update. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that The Second City Savior reached out to his former destination and got denied. The decision was spearheaded by Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H, as they decided that the negatives outweighed the positives.
Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel has already knighted Triple H as the sole in-charge of WWE creative over Vince McMahon. That would force the 78-year-old to stop infusing his inputs. However, the matter of CM Punk coming back to WWE needs to be viewed as a whole and across the board. A ton of WWE Superstars have flagrant animosity towards Punk, and that could be a potential blockade in Punk’s quest to return.
As of now, CM Punk and WWE are far apart, and it looks unlikely that they will end up shaking hands anytime soon. A lot of stars need to be aligned perfectly for a CM Punk WWE return to happen.
In case you missed it:
- Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel implicitly blames a top WWE Executive for the sharp fall in TKO’s stocks
- Red-hot fan-favorite WWE Champions explicitly tease a massive open challenge on tonight’s Season Premiere of WWE SmackDown
