In the main event of the biggest event in the history of professional wrestling, the AEW World Championship was put on the line. Additionally, the match was fought between two best friends, MJF and Adam Cole. Therefore, fans were invested in the compelling story of the two superstars who were forced into the odd pairing. However, the pairing blossomed into one of the best storylines on television at the moment.

Throughout the buildup, Adam Cole tried to tease that he needed to win the championship and would go to any extent to make that happen. On the other hand, MJF tried to connect with Cole on a human level and sympathized with him for the first time, teasing a face turn in the process. Therefore, the anticipation was at its peak for the main event.

The match did not fail to deliver on the expectations of the fans, as both Cole and MJF tried their best not to break up. However, chances did arise where Cole could have used unfair methods to get the victory and become the champion. However, he chose not to use those and instead wrestled a fair match against his best friend. Unfortunately, the result did not come out in his favor, but he celebrated with Friedman as the show closed. Take a look at three reasons why the best friends didn’t break up:

MJF’s reaction to his victory changed Adam Cole’s heart

Until the feud between MJF and Adam Cole began, MJF liked to boast about his achievements and bullied the loser after matches. However, at All In, as soon as he won the match, instead of showing off and boasting, MJF ran towards his best friend and tried to console him. Friedman kept repeating that he was lucky, but both men were equally capable of winning.

This initially irritated Cole, as he threw the title off of MJF’s hands. However, when he realized what the champion was trying to do, he calmed down, and the two men hugged it out. The reaction to this was thunderous, as over 80,000 fans cheered for the bromance. The character change for MJF has never been seen before, as he has always been selfish and self-centered when it came to helping others. Therefore, it was heartbreaking to see the shift.

Adam Cole’s friendship with MJF meant more to him than winning the title at All In

Adam Cole was offered the opportunity multiple times during the main event to turn on his best friend and win the title. However, it appeared as though the friendship meant just as much to him as it did to Freidman. Therefore, even when Roderick Strong attacked MJF and told Cole to cash in on the chance, he was hesitant to make the move.

After the match, when MJF offered his back to Cole so that he could side with him and get the title, Adam chose friendship over the championship. This was a beautiful way to send the crowd and fans home happy at the biggest show in the history of the sport. The two men stood tall together as the show went off-air. They also shared some light moments in the post-match media scrum.

AEW has plans for the duo in the future

All In ended in the most heartwarming way for both men, as they were equally popular among the fans. Therefore, the next question among the fans is what is next for MJF and Adam Cole. The two are currently ROH Tag Team Champions as well. Therefore, they might team up a few more times before they drop it to some other team.

However, this does not guarantee that neither of the men will turn on the other. The AEW Championship will still be the main target for Cole as well as Freidman. AEW is also hosting All Out in the coming week. The AEW Championship is bound to be defended on the show, and therefore, fans will have to wait and see how the team works out the situation here. These might be a few of the reasons why Adam Cole did not turn heel on MJF at All In.
