Will Ospreay has officially arrived in All Elite Wrestling. While he had wrestled on previous occasions in AEW, Revolution was the first event that the British star competed at under contract. The former IWGP World Champion squared off against fellow Don Callis Family member, Konosuke Takeshita. As expected, the match saw various breath-taking spots, with one specific move stealing the show.

Ospreay and Takeshita were on the top rope after the former connected with a Cheeky Nando’s. However, Takeshita responded with a gruesome looking Avalanche Brainbuster. Ospreay got the worst of it as he landed back-first on the top turnbuckle. After an entertaining back-and-forth at the end, Ospreay picked up the win by delivering a Hidden Blade on his opponent.

Following the event, the new signing spoke on the Revolution media scrum, where he showed off his scar from the high-risk manuever. The 30-year-old hilariously joked about showing his a** while claiming how bad it hurt. Evidently, Ospreay received a gruesome injury on his lower back. Despite that, he was proud of how his match with Takeshita played out.

In addition to that, The Billy G.O.A.T expressed his gratitude to AEW and Tony Khan for the opportunity. Now, Ospreay will turn his attention to another member of the family, Kyle Fletcher. The pair will square off at the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday.

Will Ospreay reveals how he felt interacting with Ric Flair backstage

After his match against Konosuke Takeshita, the 30-year-old was being dealt with by medical staff. Ospreay revealed that was when Flair walked up to meet him. The legend showered praise on the British star, calling him one of the best wrestlers in the world. In reply, the former thanked The Nature Boy while explaining how much it meant to him.

Flair was signed by AEW on the request of Sting, who wanted his friend alongside him for his retirement tour. The Hall of Famer was present at ringside for The Icon’s retirement match at Revolution. Meanwhile, Ospreay showed why he is arguably the best in-ring performer in the world today, putting on a banger match against Takeshita.
