The rumors were true about William Regal. As announced by himself on Twitter last afternoon, yesterday was his last day for All Elite Wrestling. Fans last saw the British legend at AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event. In the main-event, Jon Moxley of the BCC defended his AEW World Championship against MJF.
After a gruesome battle of lefts and rights, Moxley was about to retain the title, until something unexpected happened. After referee got laid out and Mox wasn’t paying attention, William Regal passed on a brass knuckle to MJF. It was after this, The Devil captured the AEW Title, leaving the fans astonished.
On November 30th edition of AEW Dynamite, things fell apart and The Devil attacked his newly-aligned mate, William Regal. Everyone would scratch off their heads as to why the story ended this abruptly. However, there was a good backstory to this. Regal’s time was up and his contract was about to expire. There were several clauses tied to his AEW agreement which enabled him to leave AEW, for good.
Shortly after that, PWInsider reported that the former leader of Blackpool Combat Club will return to WWE. As per the report, Regal will start working for WWE once again in the new year. And now, William Regal has seemingly confirmed that news by posting his final words for his former promotion on Twitter. In an emotional address, he bid adieu to AEW, thanking Tony Khan and everyone he worked with.

Is William Regal returning to WWE as an on-screen figure?
Continuing on that PWInsider report, William Regal is set to return to WWE in a Vice-president role. The details are still unspecified, but it’s still considered as a major backstage position for the former NXT General Manager. Some claims even said that Regal had sort of a clause in his deal before leaving AEW. This can prevent him from being an on-screen authority in the Stamford-based promotion.
Nevertheless, his comeback is viewed as a huge gain for Triple H and co. They compliment each other so well and Hunter’s well-versed of the entire reservoir of valuable experience Regal brings on-board. Fans are genuinely excited to once again let the duo work together and build a stronger roster than ever.

In the past, The Man’s Man has been held responsible for saving numerous WWE careers through his unforgettable efforts. Multi-time Women’s Champion Sasha Banks once stated that she wouldn’t even be able to make it to WWE, if Regal didn’t supported her. At last, the WWE homecoming of The Ringleader of the Tormentor is a massive step towards building a company, stronger than ever.
