Joel Embiid‘s decision to play for Team USA instead of France didn’t sit well with the fans. He faced a lot of trolling from the French fans and many didn’t want him in the country. Even Embiid is not laying back and has been instigating the French crowd through his actions and great performances in the games.

Recently Joel Embiid spoke with Ron Kroichick about his future and the 2028 Olympics, in which Embiid stated how good of an experience it is to play for the stacked Team USA this year. He even mentioned how little he has to do because of the star power that the USA carries throughout. He even stated that it’s hard to stay away from his family for so long and felt it was one of the hardest parts of the Olympics journey.

During the interview, he even mentioned about his potential future with Cameroon and representing the country in the 2028 Olympics.

Fans are still not sure whether Embiid was joking or he was really hinting towards playing for Cameroon. Embiid had declined the offer to play with Cameroon and France for this year’s Olympics.

It will be interesting to see Embiid and which country he plays for in the next Olympics. The Cameroon team didn’t make it far at the Paris Olympics. But with Embiid in the team fans can expect Cameroon to get a lot fire firepower through the former MVP. He will certainly be a great addition to the team. Currently, Embiid and the USA have reached the finals of the Olympics and will be facing a strong France team.

Joel Embiid’s performance was crucial against Serbia

Team USA took on Serbia in the semi-finals of the Olympics. USA and Serbia had a total of 2 matchups before the semi-finals, in which the USA won both of them. Serbia was trying to get their revenge for the previous losses and was in control for the earlier part of the game.

Joel Embiid was starting for the USA and had a lot of expectations from the USA fans entering the game. Embiid was dominant throughout the game as he recorded 19 points and captured 4 rebounds. The impressive part of his game was his last 7 points came in the last quarter which helped USA capture the victory.
