The Phoenix Suns suffered a crushing 116-98 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They now have a 28-33 record after suffering their eleventh defeat in the previous 14 games. In addition, this loss left their star man, Kevin Durant, visibly upset. He did not hold back his words and emotions after the loss against the Timberwolves.
The Suns gave up 21 three-pointers and handed the ball over 22 times while playing at home in the Footprint Center against the Timberwolves. When asked what he would do next following such a disappointing loss, Durant, who was still bitter about the loss, thrashed the Suns in an interview with reporters.
It’s tough, man. That’s a shitty game. We didn’t play up to our standards at all. We embarrassed the fans, we embarrassed ourselves the way we played, and I want us to be better.

With 26 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, Kevin Durant led his team. He worked hard, but his teammates didn’t help him much. They will probably miss the postseason for the first time since 2020 since they are now four games below the Dallas Mavericks for the Western Conference’s last play-in position.
Nobody in and around the Suns would have hoped for this result at the start of the 2024-25 NBA season. Especially after possessing the likes of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal on the roster. However, things have not worked well for them. It remains to be seen now whether or not the Suns snatch a ‘play-in’ spot towards the end of the regular season.
