The return of Hulk Hogan on Raw’s debut on Netflix was an interesting one, to say the least. Hogan appeared to promote his beer brand, Real American Beer’s partnership with WWE. However, the Los Angeles crowd was having none of it. A chorus of boos rang throughout the Intuit Dome, which led to the moment overshadowing the entire event. Despite the negative press, it seems that WWE has not learned from their mistake.
According to PWInsider, the Stamford-based promotion is considering bringing back Ric Flair at the Royal Rumble. The report doesn’t specify under what circumstances Flair would appear on the show. While a special appearance in the crowd looks like the way to go, nothing can be ruled out, especially in Flair’s case.
Over the years, The Nature Boy has repeatedly expressed his desire to step inside the ring for another match. Even at the age of 75, Flair’s passion to wrestle has not faded away. In fact, the sixteen-time world champion wrestled his last match two years ago. Flair teamed with his son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in an event dubbed as “Ric Flair’s Last Match.”

A year later, Flair joined AEW after Sting requested Tony Khan to sign him. During Sting’s retirement tour, Flair appeared on several occasions on programming, accompanying his former rival and friend to the ring. At Revolution 2024, Sting bid adieu to his wrestling career, which marked Flair’s final appearance for the company. Months later, reports suggested that Flair and his energy drink brand parted ways with AEW.
WWE Universe unhappy after reports of Ric Flair possibly appearing at Royal Rumble emerge
Without a doubt, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair have striking similarities. While they are all-time greats of the business, their off-screen controversies have tarnished their reputation within the wrestling community. Hogan bore the brunt of this on the Raw Netflix premiere. Therefore, fans were not delighted to see WWE following up the disastrous appearance by bringing in Flair.
Some users weren’t against the idea but demanded that Flair’s appearance be limited to the audience. Others were frightened by the possibility of Flair entering the Royal Rumble match. Moreover, a few predicted that The Nature Boy could cost John Cena a shot at breaking his world title record.

As a lifelong fan of the Nature Boy, growing up on Mid Atlantic….. please don’t. Unless it is just sitting in the front row with other legends watching the action, I prefer my childhood hero to remain in my memories.
