WWE star Chad Gable had one of the worst weeks of his career. First, he suffered a loss against Braun Strowman, and then his students finally stepped up to him. If that wasn’t bad enough, the worst was yet to come, as he was one of the prominent stars brutally attacked by The Wyatt Sicks. Days after the attack, WWE finally made an announcement regarding the Money in the Bank qualifying match.

Chad Gable was supposed to wrestle Strowman and Bronson Reed in a triple threat match on next week’s Raw. However, after a career-threatening attack from The Wyatt Sicks, he has been replaced by Ilja Dragunov. Therefore, this triple threat match will now be between The Mad Dragon, Strowman, and Reed, and the winner will earn a place in the MITB ladder match.

Many fans expressed excitement as the Stamford-based company continued with the storyline. Not only that, some believed that The Monster Among Men was one of the stars who got attacked by the dangerous faction. The Aussie star joined the discussion, taking to X to demand a default victory. However, it seems the former Wyatt Family member is doing just fine.

Meanwhile, Dragunov, who came to the main roster with a lot of hype behind him, isn’t having as good a run as he might have expected. After Jey Uso eliminated him from the King of the Ring tournament, he got involved in an intense rivalry with Bron Breakker. Dragunov suffered a tough loss against the 26-year-old on the June 10 episode of Raw. Now, due to Gable’s misfortunes, he has a chance to become Mr. Money in the Bank.

The match between Ilja Dragunov and Bron Breakker didn’t meet Bully Ray’s expectations

The WWE Universe had no complaints about the match between Dragunov and Breakker. However, it didn’t sit well with WWE legend Bully Ray, who thought the match should’ve played out differently. He shared his honest opinions about the match on a podcast.

While speaking on the Busted Open Radio, the Hall of Famer stated that the match didn’t meet his expectations at all. Interestingly, the in-ring performance wasn’t the reason he was disappointed; it was how they booked the 26-year-old star. In his opinion, the match should’ve been dominated by Breakker, but instead, they made it 50-50, where The Mad Dragon was also giving a tough fight. Ultimately, he stated that it ruined Breakker’s momentum.

I love what Ilja is able to do with just his eyes alone in his promos. But when you have a guy of smaller stature, no matter how much heart and how much fight he has, he’s still up against a bats**t crazy insanity in Bron Breakker.

The former NXT Champion won the match and continued his undefeated streak on the main roster. On the latest episode of Raw, he continued his path of destruction as he annihilated Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser with two devastating Spears. More importantly, it looks that he is next in line to challenge the Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn.
