The “Point God” Chris Paul is considered one of the best point guards the NBA has ever seen. Paul has always elevated the players and the team he has ever been on. NBA legend, Charles Barkley has even called Chris Paul one of the best leaders in the NBA. When Paul decided to join the San Antonio Spurs, NBA fans were left in delight. This was because Paul might be the exact mentor Victor Wembanyama needs.

During an interview with ESPN, Paul was asked about playing alongside Victor Wembanyama and what he thinks about the young star. Paul believed Wemby was the most talked about player in the NBA.

Chris Paul in his prime was a beast he could score and assist like no one else. He has excellent court vision and mid-range shooting skills. We have seen Paul elevating a team as he did before with the “Lob City” Los Angeles Clippers. His lobs to both Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan were must-see. Some people still consider that era as the best time for the Clippers.

San Antonio Spurs struck a lottery by selecting Victor Wembanyama as the first overall pick in 2023. In his rookie year, he averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He also averaged a league-leading 3.6 blocks in his rookie year. Even after such a dominant performance Spurs missed the playoffs mainly due to its weak supporting cast. But now with Chris Paul in the line-up, Spurs hopefully would make some noise the next season.

Chris Paul is a former 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA team, and a member of the NBA 75th anniversary team. But Paul has still not managed to win a championship in his illustrious career. After Paul decided to leave the Golden State Warriors and join the San Antonio Spurs many people were confused on why Paul didn’t choose a title-contending team.

In an interview with ESPN, Paul stated that he wants to play more than what he didn’t get in the Warriors. Paul had joined the Warriors for the last season to play alongside Stephen Curry, but the Warriors had one of the poorest seasons in their recent history. After this Paul was waived from his contract by the Warriors

I love nothing more than the opportunity to play and contribute and hoop, My family is everything. My wife is here, my kids are back in L.A. and that's where they will be during the season.

Now with Paul joining the Spurs and Wemby, he will certainly be a valuable asset to the team. Many have already started to imagine the wild lobs between Paul and Wemby. San Antonio Spurs have certainly got a major upgrade in their roster by adding Paul.
