Ahead of the Week 14 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers, both sets of teams and fans knew what was at stake. With the NFC North still up for grabs, head coach Matt LaFleur wanted to give it back to the home team after their previous loss.
The game was also going to be spectacular as the Lions faced numerous injuries on defense. Once thought of as arguably one of the better coached units in the league. But when going up against a team such as the Packers, it would not be easy.
That meant Lions’ fans were going to do their part in making it difficult for their visitors. Ahead of the game, one fan seemed to start working at agitating the Packers as early as possible. Cameras first captured Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur walking towards the stands mouthing this towards the fan.

The sixth-year head coach continuously shouted those words towards the fan as he came face to face with that fan wearing a Brian Branch jersey. The fan, however, did not stop as he jumped up and down to continue heckling the rival coach.
LaFleur’s assistants as well as players came over to intervene and give the fan a piece of their minds too. But then, the men in stripes came in to separate both sides and asked stadium security to get the fan back inside the secure lines.
Detroit Lions fan had the last laugh as Matt LaFleur’s side lose to field goal
Matt LaFleur knew the importance of the game as the NFC North as well as their own playoffs depend on how the final stretch of five games play out. But his players could not get that importance executed onto the field as the offense could not score for much of the first quarter.
In the second quarter they did, but after losing another chance to score off a fumble from WR Christian Watson. But by then, the Detroit Lions were ahead by more than one score. In the second half though, the Green Bay Packers fought back.
They scored either side of a Jared Goff interception to trail by just three points heading into the fourth quarter. Both sides continued to score as both Goff as well as Packers running back Josh Jacobs ensured the game was not going to be lopsided.
But the Green Bay Packers troubles were laid bare in their last drive. Instead of scoring a touchdown to put pressure on the Lions, all they managed was a game tying field goal. From then on, the home team managed the clock, and Jake Bates helped the Packers go home with a loss.
