Malik Nabers became a ‘recordmeister’ for the LSU Tigers in the recent years of the team. The dynamic young wide receiver even went past the legendary Josh Reed by registering 3003 receiving yards in three seasons at Baton Rouge.

After an impressive more than 1500 yards and 14 touchdowns in the 2023 season, Malik Nabers announced he would be taking part in the NFL Draft. According to ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., he is part of the trio of receivers (Rome Odunze and Marvin Harrison Jr.) that would go in the first round.

As it happens before every draft, a few players lose their draft value because of various circumstances. And unfortunately, Nabers may find himself in the mix of those unlucky bunches.

NFL Insider Tony Pauline outlined that franchises have concerns about Nabers’ ‘off-field concerns’ about him being ‘high maintenance’ in a big city.

There are off-the-field questions Nabers has had to answer during the draft process, and teams must feel comfortable with those answers if they’re going to invest an early draft pick and millions of dollars in his services.

After the report went viral, former NFL quarterback and current football analyst Robert Griffin III claimed whoever leaked bad rumors about Malik Nabers should be held accountable if it affected the 20-year-old’s draft prospect.

Whoever spread that Malik Nabers rumor hoping that he drops in the draft deserves to get his a** kicked. Tearing down a player’s character and hiding behind it as anonymous sources is cowardly.

Malik Nabers responded to the ‘high maintenance’ rumors

Shortly after Pauline’s report, Nabers and his former LSU quarterback, Jayden Daniels, sat down and had a chat about all the rumors circulating about the receiver. They spoke over Instagram Live on Monday.

Why are they talking about you, like your high maintenance?
Daniels asked

Nabers didn’t bat an eye in replying.

It's cap. You know they gotta pick somebody in this generation; I guess they just picked me.
Nabers told Daniels.

Several teams that want to bolster their attack power are looking to add Malik Nabers to their squad. He had two top-30 visits this past week. Per Cameron Wolfe of PFT, Nabers visited the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday and the Los Angeles Chargers the day after on Wednesday.

Even before that, he has met with representatives of the New England Patriots, the New York Jets, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Per CBS SportsRyan Wilson, Nabers will be a perfect fit for the Cardinals.
