As several theories float around about the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense and their disappointing season, wide receiver AJ Brown is at the center of it. His attitude throughout the campaign drew everyone’s attention.
From the look on his face to when he rebuked the idea that he and QB Jalen Hurts, along with Saquon Barkley, had a meeting, everything seemed to point towards some deep-rooted frustrations.
Now, into the offseason, some are already calling for the Eagles to trade away Brown, so that his negativity does not continue to impact the offense.
However, as per Bleeding Green Nation’s Joseph Santoliquito, the wideout has placed requests to be traded on numerous occasions. The community-based publication claimed that AJ Brown had placed his first request after the Week 3 win against the Rams.
In that game, the 28-year-old caught six passes for 109 yards and one touchdown. But in his previous two games, he caught six passes for 35 yards combined.

Maybe that one centurion game was not enough to change his opinion of how the offense was performing. That continued over the rest of the season, and his frustrations became more and more evident.
Fans fume after learning AJ Brown requested trade multiple times
Over the past two seasons, AJ Brown has given enough indications of how frustrated he has been in the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense. But for him to place several trade requests irked fans.
They feel that when he could not grab game-altering passes from Jalen Hurts in the Wild Card round, or when he did not show effort during other plays, the wideout did not hold up his end of the bargain.
Fans felt he was basically quitting on his team from the onset of this season, and that has resulted in a wasted campaign. Check out examples of those reactions below:
Week 3 is an early breaking point. The disconnect ran deep.

Kevin Patullo didn't fire himself, and AJ has career lows with his rock slinger, correlation

Careful what you wish for, Jefferson averaged only 61 yards/game with Vikings, he's more talented than Brown

Why is that surprising? He’s been visibly and vocally miserable.

AJ Brown was the subject of trade rumors ahead of the deadline this past November. At the time, GM Howie Roseman reiterated that the receiver was too important to their offense. Fans hope that maybe now, the importance changes.
Jason Kelce wants AJ Brown to take time off
With AJ Brown expressing his frustrations in whatever way he thought was sensible, the Eagles are facing a dilemma on whether to keep him or test the trade market. With his humongous salary as an obstacle, former center Jason Kelce believes the wideout needs some time off.

AJ needs to step away… I don’t believe he’s lost a step the way I’ve seen some people say. I think when you’re frustrated and upset, it tends to make you look uncharacteristic.

The Super Bowl champion believes his former teammate should follow Aaron Rodgers‘ example and go into a ‘dark retreat’ to get his mind back on track.
Jason Kelce thinks A.J. Brown needs to step away:

"I think he needs to get away from things. I think that whole team needs to kind of step away for a second and re-evaluate…and get ready to attack it when they all get back together." pic.twitter.com/kUluSMhnyU
Maybe that way, and with the promise of an improved offense under whoever comes in as the next offensive coordinator, Kelce believes his former team can get back on track.
