The situation surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles has reached alarming levels after the apparent lack of chemistry between AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the rest of the offense saw them lose their second straight game.
In Week 5, Brown faced flak from reporters and fans after it became apparent that he had slowed down on what could have been their game-winning touchdown.
The wideout was defiant, shifting the blame onto his quarterback, suggesting it was a missed throw. That indicated that there was a rift between the Eagles’ offense’s top players.
A couple of days later, it was reported that Saquon Barkley had initiated a meeting where he, Hurts, and Brown sat down to air out their differences. Eagles’ fans felt this was going to help them overcome their internal conflict.
Then in Week 6, Jalen Hurts threw a pick-6 that flipped the game on its head. Fans pointed out that AJ Brown was wide open for a touchdown, which again could have helped keep the game in their hands.
After the game, the star receiver was asked about the contents of the meeting with Barkley and Hurts. He denied having been a part of such a meeting, and then sounded as if he was labeling his teammates as making up that supposed meeting.
Just to clear this up. That wasn’t a meeting or a sit-down. I said “I don’t recall” because it got painted like there was tension and Sa had to step in. That’s not true. I was walking to my car, saw them, and stopped to talk. Nothing more.

This was the three-time Pro Bowler’s clarification, suggesting the so-called meeting was nothing but a parking lot discussion, rather than a full-blown sit-down with his teammates.
AJ Brown and Eagles’ offense have to work out how to improve their performance
After winning Super Bowl LIX, many believed that the Philadelphia Eagles were the next NFL dynasty. They had a young, talented defense, and the offense was loaded to the gills.

After the contract extensions they handed AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, fans believed that Jalen Hurts would not have a shortage of targets for the next few years.
That has not been the case this season, as the Eagles have scored just 23.7 points per game. That happens to be bang average in the league, despite playing a game more than others. If not for their two 30-point wins in Weeks 3 & 4, that average will be lower.
One of the scores in that game came off Jordan Davis‘ blocked field goal, scoop and score. Leaving out the touchdown in the win against the Rams and the one in the 4th quarter in the Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Chiefs, the Eagles have struggled late in games.
They do not have a touchdown to speak of in the 4th quarter in four of their 6 games, and have largely struggled in the second half. For a team possessing that much talent, those numbers are unfathomable.
AJ Brown and the rest of the offense should sit down and figure out how to improve their performance on the field, as the defense can only take them so far.
AJ Brown was disappointed not to be drafted by Patriots
In the midst of all this drama, rumors of a possible trade interest from the New England Patriots have resurfaced. It gained steam as fans stumbled upon a video of AJ Brown talking about his love for the franchise and how he was disappointed not to be drafted by them reached social media.
I just knew I was going to the Patriots, cause I was a big Patriots fan… I left everybody at the house and went home, I went in the closet and cried my eyes out.
AJ Brown had said on Bussin’ With the Boys
While speaking with former players Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, Brown revealed that he came to know that the Patriots were picking a receiver with their 32nd overall pick, but it ended up being N’Keal Harry.
Flashback to when AJ Brown cried because Belichick decided to draft Nkeal Harry over him.

Brown went 19 picks later to the Tennessee Titans, whose then-head coach was Mike Vrabel. That gentleman is now in charge of the Patriots, which has given further fuel to the fire. However, Brown’s massive dead cap might deter a trade from happening this season.
