Before taking on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night, Philadelphia Eagles players, specifically AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Jalen Hurts, and Saquon Barkley, held a meeting. Or perhaps they did not.

The Eagles are 4-2 after losing 17-34 to the Giants. Even if they held a meeting to bury all the tension, the Eagles lacked the cohesiveness that helped them win a Super Bowl last season.

Brown caught 6 passes for the first time since Week 3 and went 80 yards, but they were inconsequential to the Giants. After the game, reporters flocked around the All-Pro wideout and asked the all-important question: Did he, Hurts, Smith, and Barkley have a meeting prior to the game?

The 28-year-old denied being part of any meeting with a mellow smile on his face.

I don’t recall a meeting. I don’t know what you’re talking about. No, you need to talk to them. I don’t recall. I don’t recall.

AJ Brown said

Following Sunday’s 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos, reports began to swirl that players had held a meeting among themselves to discuss the current situation of the locker room. Barkley first broke the news when egged on by the media. He made it clear that it was supposed to remain a private conversation.

I felt like that conversation was meant to stay between us, but the focus was all about the team, and I think it was a good thing. I would definitely say it wasn’t like a players’ meeting.

Saquon Barkley said (H/T: ESPN)

Hurts chimed in with his take.

It’s just us talking about the collective, taking ownership for what we can, and how we move forward. Just teammates being teammates.

The Super Bowl LIX MVP had a mixed bag outing yesterday. He completed 24 passes for 283 yards and 1 touchdown, along with 7 rushes for 13 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. However, an interception early in the fourth quarter allowed the Giants to increase their lead through running back Cam Skattebo.

Philly may be leading the NFC East, but at this rate, the Dallas Cowboys and even the Giants could overtake them within the next few weeks.

Analyst says AJ Brown will be a perfect fit for an AFC East team

The Eagles are going through a mini crisis, and it will not surprise anyone if several players jump ship before it implodes. One of them could be AJ Brown.

Several teams, including his favorite New England Patriots, are in the mix to land the three-time All-Pro wideout. Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, on the other hand, suggested the Patriots’ divisional rivals, the Buffalo Bills, as a possible trade candidate for Brown.

While slot wideout Khalil Shakir [22/235/2] and X receiver Keon Coleman [21/226/2] have played their roles adequately, tight end Dalton Kincaid leads Buffalo in receiving yardage [287] and receiving touchdowns [three]. There’s clearly room for a star like Brown to come in and take over as Allen’s top target down the stretch. If the Bills are willing to kick over an early Day 2 pick and a conditional 2027 pick to sweeten the pot, it may just be enough to get the Eagles to consider moving on from the pass-catcher.

Brown has played every game in 2025. He has racked up 25 catches from 45 targets for 274 yards and 1 touchdown. Up next, the Eagles travel to the Twin Cities to play the Minnesota Vikings in week seven.
