AJ Brown may have started his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, but he’s Philly through and through. He has led the Eagles to multiple Super Bowl appearances and lifted the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans three months ago.
On Tuesday, a nonprofit organization, ‘The Philly Service Award,’ invited Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker to honor AJ Brown with the first-ever ‘Making a Better Philly Changemaker Award.’
When selecting our first honoree, we wanted someone who not only inspires students but also reflects what they are capable of achieving.
Cherelle Parker said via the Philadelphia Inquirer
During his speech, an emotional Brown thanked Parker and everyone present at the ceremony for such an auspicious award. He revealed that it was his wish and aim to give back to the community once he reached the NFL.
For me, it’s just about showing the love that I have in my heart.
AJ Brown said
On the same day, famed restaurant chain Chickie’s & Pete’s donated $11,000 to Brown’s foundation. Its aim is to support underprivileged children and help them make positive impacts in their home communities.
When asked the reason behind giving back to his community, the 27-year-old revealed it’s due to his upbringing. And he will continue to do so in the future.
Philly has become my home, and I’m proud to say that. Thank God, because without him, none of this would be possible… Philly has adopted me & I’m so thankful.
AJ Brown added
Later, Brown shared a post on X thanking Parker for the honor.
Thank you so much, Mayor Parker. I truly appreciate your kind words and your support. It means a lot to be recognized by the city I represent and love. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our community.

AJ Brown encouraged new graduates at his alma mater
Before entering the NFL, Brown spent three seasons with the Ole Miss Rebels. He recently went back to his alma mater as a special guest speaker at the institution’s 2025 spring graduation ceremony.

Brown told the 5500 fresh graduates to grind hard in their lives. Earning a college degree is only the beginning. The real work starts after they walk out of the college door. So he advised them to polish their skills and get better.
Brown also proposed to the love of his life, Kelsey Riley, and she said yes. The pair announced their engagement earlier this month. They held a private party with friends, family, and some of Brown’s teammates from the Eagles.
As a result, he missed the opportunity to visit the White House and meet with President Donald Trump, like Saquon Barkley and head coach Nick Sirianni.
Brown has played three seasons with the Eagles since switching from the Titans. He has caught a total of 261 passes for 4031 receiving yards and 25 receiving touchdowns. He signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension, meaning that the Eagles’ fans will enjoy seeing one of the best receivers in Philly for the next few years.
