On Sunday, AJ Styles discovered that his X account, formerly Twitter, had been hacked. In a follow-up video, he posted on Instagram to address the situation. The 47-year-old revealed that he caught the abnormalities on his social media account by logging into it through his wife’s phone. Styles’ sim was also stolen in this surprising new development.

The Phenomenal One pinned the blame on his mobile carrier, AT&T, saying someone over there allowed that to happen. The unsolicited posts that were made by the hacker through Styles’ account were crypto baits. It seems like the WWE Superstar has regained control of his account, as the said posts have been taken down. As evident by the mishap, it was likely a SIM swap scam.

The former WWE Champion mostly stays away from social media and rather invests his time in playing video games. As far as his wrestling career is concerned, he’s had some forgettable results in recent months. At WrestleMania 41, The Georgia Pitbull succumbed to Logan Paul. That marked the end of yet another substandard WrestleMania season for one of the greatest in this industry.

Karrion Kross, who’d been in the ears of Styles all along the way and warned the former World Champion of not falling to an outsider like Paul, was furious with The Phenomenal One. In hindsight, The Maverick closed out a one-sided rivalry with The Face That Runs the Place. Their rift began at this year’s Royal Rumble after Styles was eliminated by Paul as the latter went below the belt.

AJ Styles’ Backlash classic with Cody Rhodes turns one-year-old

Exactly a year ago, AJ Styles reminded everyone that he could still go. In the French city of Lyon, The Phenomenal One locked horns with Cody Rhodes in an attempt to dethrone the then-Undisputed WWE Champion. Outside of this match being an absolute barn burner, what made it even more special was the rabid crowd. Rhodes was naturally cheered as a babyface.

However, despite being a heel, Styles received one of the loudest crowd reactions imaginable. Even though he lost, the former IWGP Champ gave The American Nightmare the best possible start to his title reign. The two would go on to have a rematch at Clash at the Castle, but Styles lost again.

Later in the year, the North Carolina-born wrestler picked up a Lisfranc injury in a match with Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown. The recovery was tantalizing and kept him out of action until the Royal Rumble. It has only gone downhill for Styles since then. There’s not much left to do for Mr. TNA in the wrestling business. He doesn’t want to keep going past 50, and that window is slim.

Could AJ Styles still face John Cena this year?

A WWE draft is reportedly planned for this year at an undisclosed date, as recently insinuated by WrestleVotes. AJ Styles could definitely be one of the names making their moves to the blue brand. While he’s not expected to win the WWE title at this stage of his career, he could certainly give John Cena a run for his money.

The two had a classic rivalry in 2016-17, and they’ve produced magic every single time. The Georgia Pitbull told Chris Van Vliet that he’d be down to wrestling The Cenation Leader one last time before they hang up their boots for good. However, Styles did mention that he’s not in a position to make such calls.

While they may not be able to operate at a bar they’d set years ago, the fans wouldn’t complain if Cena and Styles headlined any of the PLEs in 2025. For now, the Peacemaker actor is gearing up to defend the Undisputed WWE title against Randy Orton at Backlash.
