AJ Styles is having the time of his life after hanging up his wrestling boots for good. ‘The Phenomenal One’ took to his Instagram on Thursday to give a peek into how the retirement has been treating him so far. He posted a picture of him getting his hair done by his daughter, leaving a laughing emoji in the end to indicate the amount of fun he was having.

The former two-time WWE Champion said in his promo on Raw this Monday that he had never experienced being a full-time father. He didn’t have anything left to accomplish in a wrestling ring, but the real-life Allen Jones got emotional seeing his family in the front row. It truly appeared as if he just wanted to spend the rest of his life dedicating all his time to his wife and kids.

And Styles is off to a great start. His post is nearing 50k likes in just 5 hours of uploading. As far as his future in pro wrestling is concerned, he’s not going to pump the brakes on the business that made him the sensation he is today. ‘The Face That Runs the Place’ dropped some breaking news in his latest appearance on Talk’n Shop podcast: he’s going to continue working for WWE.

Styles said he has aspirations of helping out the next generation of wrestlers and getting them ready for a bigger spotlight. In fact, PWInsider has now reported that AJ has agreed to terms with WWE for a new deal that will see him segue into a role just mentioned above and facilitate the development of up-and-coming talent.

AJ Styles shoots down AEW rumors after WWE Hall of Fame honor

Raw this past Monday ended with The Undertaker dropping the WWE Hall of Fame induction bombshell on AJ Styles. The Deadman’s announcement caught his last WrestleMania off guard, as it was a complete surprise to him. WWE decided not to inform the 48-year-old about it in advance and let his raw emotions come out once Taker broke the news in front of a packed house in Atlanta.

Amid the wave of euphoria among fans that were elated with AJ getting his due flowers, a number of trolls also popped up claiming that WWE fast-tracked Styles’ HOF induction to keep him from going to AEW. Is there any truth to it? No, there isn’t, as per AJ himself. ‘The Georgia Pitbull’ shot it down in the aforementioned conversation on Talk’n Shop.

Everybody wants to say, WWE put him in the Hall Of Fame so they couldn’t go to AEW. Guys, I’m retired from wrestling in the ring, like that’s all this is. I make my own choices…..I was ready. You got to beat the house. I beat the house, because I was on the verge of staying at the table too long.

AJ Styles reaffirmed that he’s done as an in-ring performer, which should’ve become abundantly clear from him leaving his wrestling gear in the ring on Raw. ‘The Phenomenal One’ added that he could make his own decisions, and he was ready to wrap it up on his own terms.

Styles borrowed a line from Nattie‘s book that talked about the temptation of staying at the table for too long, which, in pro wrestling terms, translates to overstaying one’s welcome.

One of the biggest deciding factors for Styles to call it quits on an incredible wrestling career was not risking a life-threatening injury at this stage of his life. He wanted to bow out with his body still intact, and that’s a privilege not many in this industry have had.

The fans can trust Styles staying true to his word of being retired from an in-ring capacity. He had said in an interview with Chris Van Vliet last year that he would ride off into the sunset before turning 50. And that’s exactly what he has done.
