WWE is ushering in a new era of professional wrestling, and as the company evolves, several stars are approaching the twilight of their careers—including AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One has frequently discussed his retirement, admitting that it’s closer than ever. Now, he has provided a significant update on when he truly plans to hang up his boots.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Styles admitted that he thinks about retirement now more than ever. While he hasn’t set a specific timeline, he believes 50 will be the age when he finally steps away from the ring. The Phenomenal One is set to turn 48 in June, meaning he has roughly two years and three months left in his in-ring career.

It’s really cool to see those guys hustle as much as they are and beat themselves up as much as they have, and still do well. I like seeing that.

The former WWE Champion has struggled to maintain momentum in the company for quite some time. After suffering an injury in October last year, Styles made his return during the Men’s Royal Rumble match in February. Since then, The Phenomenal One has been searching for a significant opportunity to reignite his WWE career.

Moreover, the 47-year-old had high praise for stars like Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, acknowledging their elite-level selling skills that push his competitive spirit. Additionally, AJ expressed admiration for World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, highlighting his dedication to weight loss as a key factor in elevating his career. Styles admitted that these stars inspire him to push himself for one more run at the top.

AJ Styles expected to face Logan Paul at WrestleMania this year

AJ Styles has been searching for a WrestleMania opponent for quite some time, with fans hoping to see him in a high-profile matchup. It now appears that he has found a marquee opponent for the grand stage. Next week at Madison Square Garden, The Phenomenal One has announced that he will call out Logan Paul for a potential showdown.

On this week’s Raw, AJ sent a strong message to The Social Media Megastar. He challenged Paul to prove himself, making it clear that he doesn’t like The Maverick and hasn’t forgotten being eliminated by him at the Royal Rumble. Seeking revenge, The Phenomenal One announced that he will call out the former United States Champion next week on Raw with a challenge.

Additionally, AJ Styles and Paul had a heated confrontation on Raw a few weeks ago, where The Maverick openly disrespected the WWE veteran. A clash between them at WrestleMania would be a high-profile showdown, and if it happens, it has the potential to be one of the biggest matches of the year.
