Last season, A’ja Wilson campaigned all along for equal appreciation for all players in the WNBA. She was talking along those lines after it seemed as if rookie Caitlin Clark was undeserving of the attention she was receiving.

The Las Vegas Aces superstar believed those who had put in the work in the league deserved more attention. Her comments did attract some unwanted attention as fans felt she was being jealous. When it seemed as if that jealousy turned into pettiness, others started to slam her actions.

Wilson also took a stand against the racism that was prevalent among new WNBA fans. She particularly singled out Clark’s Indiana Fever fans and indirectly demanded that someone should slam the racist motives of those fans.

After the season, Caitlin Clark came out to slam those fans. Then the rookie asked for current and former players to be appreciated, particularly black players. This shut down the narratives for good. But now, Wilson found herself taking some heat at an event promoting her signature sneakers.

Imma say this and then Iโ€™m out cause my lil yea yea said donโ€™t comment on stupidity ( I canโ€™t help it ๐Ÿ˜‚) buttttt if I strongly disliked someone or something soooooo bad I wouldnโ€™t spend a pinch of time engaging in it but thatโ€™s just me and I understand we are alllll different ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚ Okie dokie Iโ€™m done lolol be blessed yall

This was after fans pointed out that she linked up with Michael McManus, aka Deloris. He was arrested back in 2021 for assaulting a student. Fans also found out that Deloris was hating on a few WNBA players. These revelations left fans confused as to why Wilson would associate with someone like that.

Fans fume at A’ja Wilson for promoting sneakers with arrested school teacher

WNBA fans recalled that Michael McManus was arrested and charged with assault and 3rd degree battery. He assaulted a student when he was a dance teacher at Blenheim Middle School. What surprised fans was that this incident happened in South Carolina, which means A’ja Wilson must be aware of this.

Even if she did not, fans believe she should have done her due diligence. After all, he has been tweeting out hateful messages towards the very players the Las Vegas Aces superstar has been batting for. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Fans feel A’ja Wilson is showing off her double standards. When needed she will berate those to gain traction. At the same time, she was associating with people for marketing purposes knowing they are part of the problem the WNBA faces.

Aces superstar under more scrutiny than ever

Ever since last season ended, fans have been keeping an eye on A’ja Wilson‘s activities. Her personal life aside, fans have started to notice that the Las Vegas Aces superstar might not be what she preaches.

For instance, they figured out that the three-time league MVP had used the signature sneaker discourse to run along. Even though a section of the fans were hating on Caitlin Clark, Wilson did not step in to stop the narrative from continuing.

Once fans found that out and started calling her out, the two-time WNBA champion promptly blocked her X account. By staying away, she is not entertaining the any negativity. But at the same time, fans understand why she still has not unblocked her account.

On top of that, fans believe something was not right with the Aces last season. Fans believe they prioritized her MVP campaign, but at the cost of a championship. Now quite a few of her teammates have moved on to other teams.

Since there is no proof to anything, these assumptions are beginning to pile the heat on to the WNBA star. With the 2025 season soon to commence, it seems fans will be taking note of all her actions.
