Ajax vs Benfica: Ajax took on Benfica in the second leg of the UCL Knockouts after the first leng ended level at 2-2. Benfica stunned the Dutch giants with a 1-0 win knocking Ajax out.

Ajax completely dominated possession and seemed favourites but a late set-piece was the turning point of the match. Nunez latched onto a Grimaldo cross and headed it home. Onana was at fault for the goal with his decision to come out proving costly.

Jurriën Timber(6.4/10):Timber had an okay game at the back and played some good long balls.

Steven Berghuis(7.2/10):He made a lot of teasing and progressive passes but was let down by the decision making of the forwards in the final third.

Ryan Gravenberch(7.5/10):Gravenberch had a good game and made some important tackles. He kept the ball well in midfield and won it back quickly throughout the game.

Edson Álvarez(7.8/10):The Mexican defensive midfielder was brilliant in controlling the tempo of the game and won a lot of duels in the middle of the park.

Sébastien Haller(6.5/10):Haller could not prove to be the talisman for his side.He made a couple of good dribbles but could not get into dangerous positions.

Jan Vertonghen(7.5/10):The Belgian veteran made a lot of clearances and did well at the back to keep out the Ajax forwards.

Nicolás Otamendi(6.8/10): Benfica’s Otamendi also did well to partner Vertonghen but lost possession a few times.

Alejandro Grimaldo(8.2/10):The Portuguese left-back did brilliantly in the game and got the assist from the set-piece for the all important goal.He made some important blocks and tackles.

Everton(6/10):He had very few touches of the ball despite having played 72 minutes.
