In order to fill three vacancies that have arisen in the senior selection committee, a virtual interview will be held on Thursday by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) headed by Madan Lal. The 89th Annual General Meeting of the BCCI will be held today and if reports are anything to go by, President Sourav Ganguly could face an ‘ambush’ of questions from members especially over his endorsements of brands that are understood to be rivals to the BCCI’s official sponsors. A source close to Ganguly reportedly said according to Hindustan Times, “If anyone raises the issue in the meeting, Ganguly has a line of defence ready.”

Apart from the aforesaid issue and the selection to the vacant posts, there are other important issues to be discussed. These include the appointment of the BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla, the continuation of Brijesh Patel as chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also the issue of whether or not to admit two new teams in the IPL from either 2021 or 2022.
