I actually did commenting a few matches at the US Open, and I liked it. But once I am done, I have to give acting a go. My family doesn’t support me this. My mother thinks I’m ridiculous. My father is up for anything I want. My sister doesn’t think I have the talent, but I have to work in front of the camera. So it will be interesting.

The past year has been tough for Tomljanovic, as she dealt with both physical and mental challenges. After recovering from a knee injury, she is now balancing her tennis career with her interests off the court. She aims to make a strong impact at this year’s Australian Open.

Tomljanovic built a 4-0 lead in the deciding set, but the 20-year-old Krueger fought back. The match became tense as Krueger closed the gap. Despite missing her first two match points, Tomljanovic kept her focus and won after 144 minutes of play in sunny Melbourne.

The Australian ace, who received a wildcard due to her recovery from a knee injury, showed no signs of trouble. Her performance improved in the final set, helping her to overcome her 52nd-ranked opponent.

Tomljanovic will now face 12th-seed Diana Shnaider in the second round. It is to be seen if she reaches the third round of the Australian Open for the first time in her career.
