Last Friday, the Alabama community came across a gloomy morning after a high school quarterback, Caden Tellier died following a critical injury during the season-opening game on the same day. 

The star athlete of the Alabama high school football team went through a critical brain injury on Friday’s game, as confirmed by headmaster Bryan Oliver to CBS News. Immediately after the injury caused due to a tackle, Tellier was rushed to the hospital at which point it became clear to everyone that something had gone wrong with him, as per the school officials via TMZ

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Caden Tellier has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Caden loved the Lord with all his heart and was a shining light every day he graced the halls of Morgan Academy… Caden will never be forgotten for who he was and what he means to the Morgan family.
Bryan Oliver wrote in a Facebook post

Alabama Independent School Association Executive Director Michael McClendon also released a statement regarding the death of the teenager, who was a member of Morgan Academy’s football and baseball teams. It was revealed that the brain injury caused a rupture of the blood vessel, which made all the attempts to save him futile and he passed away at the hospital.

Caden Tellier’s family remembers him as kind and generous

To honor the star athlete, the Alabama high school has decided to cancel all athletic activities for the whole week, including the scheduled match on Friday. The 16-year-old, who is survived by his parents Jamie Tellier and Arsella Tellier, and a younger sister named Lyla, 12, was an organ donor.

The death of Tellier is the fourth fatality in the string of recent high school players’ deaths caused by medical emergencies. This has led to intensified concerns regarding the safety of the football players in the schools across the country.
