Alejandro Garnacho is most known for following in the footsteps of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. The 20-year-old winger imitates Ronaldo in the way he dresses, plays and even celebrates goals for Manchester United. The youngster is also known for publicly admitting that he prefers Ronaldo over Lionel Messi and that he considers the former his role model.
However, this has led to the misunderstanding that Garnacho is not on good terms with the Argentine No.10 and that he harbors an anti-Messi agenda. While coming across such a post on X (formerly Twitter), Garnacho made the decision to put an end to the same once and for all. His response to a post claiming that the Manchester United man did nothing when Messi was in tears during the final has gone viral on social media.
The 20-year-old posted a picture of himself with the Argentina captain moments after winning the Copa America.
His wordless caption suggested that he is fed up of this narrative and wanted to put and end to the rumors. At just 20 years old, Garnacho is both the present and future for La Albiceleste.

Alejandro Garnacho has recently gone viral for a variety of reasons. From becoming a Copa America champion at the age of 20 to stating that Lionel Messi is his favorite player, fans are in disbelief of how the player has managed to rewrite the narrative surrounding himself. In a video that recently went viral on social media, Garnacho was stopped by a group of fans for pictures.
A fan is seen quizzing the forward as to who his favorite footballer is. Garnacho picks Messi over his rival, much to the surprise of the fans recording his response. Despite openly claiming Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT several times on social media, his recent ‘liking’ towards Messi comes as no surprise. A fan commented that Alejandro woke up and chose to destroy the only thing Ronaldo fans could celebrate about in recent times.
Another added that just a month with Messi changed Garnacho’s perspective on the GOAT debate. Several Ronaldo fans were in disbelief that the youngster could switch up his opinion that quickly.
A few even suggested that he replied accordingly only to please the ones who asked him the question. Argentina and Messi fans were happy that Garnacho finally saw the light and picked the ‘right’ side in the debate.
