Alex Carey is an Australian wicketkeeper who has been enjoying decent form in cricket and has been happily married to Eloise Carey. Though both prefer to keep their personal life out of the limelight, Eloise has been spotted in the stands cheering for the cricketer.
Carey was born on August 27, 1991, in Loxton, South Australia. He made his debut for Australia in an ODI match against England in January. Then he made his T20I debut the next month against New Zealand. The 31-year-old donned the Test jersey three years later, against England in December.
Though Carey’s Test came quite late in his career (after Tim Paine‘s resignation as Test captain which gave Carey the wicketkeeping role), the major incident which hogged considerable limelight was the incident that happened during the second Ashes Test in 2023. Carey, after observing England’s Jonny Bairstow leaving the crease even before the ball was declared dead, threw the ball at the stumps and stirred the ‘spirit of cricket’ debate.

“My wife is the harshest cricket of the reverse,” Carey had said. “She says, ‘Don’t play the bloody reverse sweep, not again. But I just politely tell her, ‘You haven’t played the game’ Yes, you’re going to get out to reverse sweeps and sweeps. But it can produce some success as well.”
