All eyes have been on one player, this French Open, Novak Djokovic. The Serbian has not had a memorable year so far and headed into the Grand Slam after a loss in the Geneva Open. However, the World No.1 proved every critic wrong after his rather comfortable first-round victory.

Djokovic did not stop there and did even better in the second-round match against Roberto Carballes Baena. Throughout the match, the Serbian was one step ahead of his opponent before winning 6-4, 6-1, 6-2. This was a match to announce himself back on tour, fueled by motivation to win a slam.

In my opinion, he was hitting the ball way harder than in the first round, and especially he was so focused, so determined. I liked very much what he did today. Today, it felt like Novak is back because we’ve been missing him a lot.

The Serbian himself enjoyed the game and was proud of how he played. He won 55% of his return points and broke the Spaniard 7 times to win the match.

I was dictating play and doing things the right way. I have to be content, of course, it can always be better. Matches are only going to get tougher. It’s enjoyable to feel and play this way at a Grand Slam.
