Alex de Minaur is through to his second Grand Slam quarterfinals after beating French youngster Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at the Wimbledon Championships. After the win, De Minaur stated that he was happy with the rest and was looking forward to possibly facing Novak Djokovic in the next round.
I’m just excited to be in the quarterfinals, I’m excited to have another battle and give myself a shot. Yeah, one thing you can definitely count on is me going out there and trying my hardest and playing my heart out.
De Minaur said in his on-court interview
He struggled with a back issue for most of the fourth set against Fils and will be hoping that he can overcome it before his next match.

What are Alex de Minaur’s chances of making the semifinals in SW19?

Alex de Minaur will face either Holger Rune or Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals on Wednesday (July 10). He has played Djokovic three times and Rune four times on the ATP tour so far.
Djokovic currently leads the Australian 2-1 in the head-to-head, with the last match between them going the former World No. 1’s way in the quarterfinals at Monte-Carlo this year. That said, De Minaur ended Djokovic’s unbelievable streak of being undefeated in Australia since 2018 at the United Cup, taking him out in straight sets.
De Minaur fares slightly better against Rune, having an even 2-2 record against the Dane. He has won his last two matches against Rune, the most recent one coming at the Queen’s Club Championships this year.
