What a funny and sweet guy. I appreciate it. Sometimes I'm not a bad company. Other days, I'm a horrible company. So, you've got to get me on a good day.

The 25-year-old was unable to meet up with the ferocious forehands of Fils, who became the youngest player to reach the tournament quarterfinals this year. In de Minaur’s last ATP 500 competition, he won the title beating Casper Ruud.

For Fils, it was his biggest victory on the tour this season. He will face Dusan Lajovic, who the Frenchman beat in Buenos Aires. He will also be hoping he reaches his second semifinals of the season.
