UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and former titleholder Jamahal Hill started their rivalry on a purely competitive level. However, in recent months, the tension between them has escalated after exchanging insults on social media. Recently, another significant event occurred at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, where Pereira and Hill encountered each other.

Alex Pereira was taking a break after his recent fight at UFC 307 where he battered Khalil Rountree convincingly. Following an extensive holiday, he returned to train at the UFC’s Performance Institute in Las Vegas. However, just minutes into his training, Pereira found himself in a heated exchange with former rival Jamahal Hill. As such, the two UFC light heavyweight fighters were even close to throwing punches.

At first, the video shows a verbal altercation between Pereira and Hill. However, as the situation escalated, it almost turned physical when ‘Poatan’ threw a pair of gloves at ‘Sweet Dreams.’ Pereira challenged Hill to an impromptu fight, but Plinio Cruz intervened and separated them before the chaos could erupt. Interestingly, this was clear evidence that these two fighters had bad blood for each other.

One reason for the ongoing tension between the two fighters is that they have been at odds for months. After their fight at UFC 300, Hill struggled to accept his defeat against Pereira. Consequently, the American fighter seemingly criticized the Brazilian on multiple occasions. Additionally, Hill is determined to avenge his loss, which is why he has consistently stood up to Poatan.

Alex Pereira is undoubtedly one of the top superstars in the UFC today. In a very short time, Poatan has made significant strides in the promotion. With his rising fame, the Brazilian fighter and current UFC light heavyweight champion has also garnered the ire of many rivals. Notably, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill is among those who dislike him.

The ongoing feud between Pereira and Hill is evident through their constant online disputes and the almost physical altercation that took place at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. Soon after the incident, Hill spoke out about the conversations that escalated their recent verbal clash at the UFC Performance Institute.

I was at the PI earlier, and Alex was there. I just finished working out, he was working out, and I went up to go up and have a conversation… He said something to his translator and his translator said, ‘He said you‘re still sleeping, woke up and sh*t!‘… Then it kind of went to a fake a**, ‘Yeah come get the gloves and go in the cage…

A few hours later, even Pereira shared his reaction to the incident in an interview. However, unlike Hill, Pereira didn’t have an animatic reaction to it. As such, the UFC light heavyweight champion seemingly wanted Sweet Dreams to focus on his upcoming fight.

Well things happened first… I’m focused on myself, focused on my thing. Right now, he should worried about his next fight, he has a tough fight with Jiri.
