No one would want to be on the bad side of Alex Pereira. He is a respectful person but will not take any disrespect from anyone. Pereira recently revealed plans to make his UFC 300 main event against Jamahal Hill a marathon affair. However, the trash talk started flowing, and he decided to end the festivities early.
Alex Pereira revealed that he wanted the fight to go beyond three rounds at the very least. The training camp ahead of UFC 300 focused on having a war against Jamahal Hill. However, he had a change of heart after Hill started talking unwarranted trash-talks.
I wanted this fight to go five rounds initially. That’s what I was going to do... He behaved not too good... He was respectful during the week but he did what he did during the press conference. The least I could do was that [knock out] to him.Alex Pereira via UFC 300 Post-Fight Press Conference

That’s exactly what “Poatan” did. He landed a devastating left underhook that sent Hill crashing to the canvas just over three minutes into the opening round. It was a performance with fight fans and analysts alike shaking their heads in disbelief. This was also Hill’s first-ever KO loss. So far, Pereira has handed first-ever knockout losses to Israel Adesanya, Jiri Prochazka, and Hill in the UFC.
It’s clear that the two-division champion has little patience for trash talk or disrespect. Pereira’s performance was a masterclass in efficient violence. This served as a brutal reminder of the power he packs in those “hands of stone.” So, it’s better to always be in Pereira’s good graces.
Jamahal Hill got into a heated argument with Alex Pereira ahead of UFC 300
The tension was palpable at the pre-fight press conference for the historic UFC 300. This came as the headliners took the stage for their pre-fight press conference. Jamahal Hill came out swinging – both with his words and a symbolic stone-faced emoji chain, also called “Moai.”

The chain showcased a bloody and bruised stone face emoji. This symbolized what Hill would do to Pereira at UFC 300. Pereira obviously wasn’t thrilled with this and stated that he would make Hill remember this moment when he would walk out to the Octagon. Hill seemed dismissive of this and went on an expletive rant.
Write it down, take a picture, I don't give a f*ck. You step in there with me, ain't nothing to talk about. Ain't nothing to say. It's all right here and I'm on your a**.Jamahal Hill at the UFC 300 pre-fight press conference
It seemed Hill wasn’t intimidated by Pereira’s reputation as one of the most fearsome strikers in the game. He practically begged to trade blows with the “Hands of Stone” champion. But things didn’t go as Hill would have hoped when he clashed with Pereira. In the end, Pereira got the last laugh.
