UFC 300 witnessed the dangerous Alex Pereira knocking out Jamahal Hill in the opening round of their main event clash. In a surprising turn, Canadian musician Drake had placed a bet on ‘Poatan’ to win. Hence, Pereira was faced with an unexpected question about Drake at the press conference. He didn’t hesitate to give a befitting reply.

Pereria was unscathed at his recent bout against Hill and joined the post-fight press conference alongside his coach. A reporter asked him an intriguing question – ‘Would he ask Drake for a favor after the rapper reportedly made $1.2 million off his fight?’ Alex Pereira‘s response? A firm and straightforward “No.” He wasn’t interested in getting his hands on any of Drake’s winnings.

If he lost [his bet], I’m not going to give no money to him. So if he won, props, thank you very much.

It’s a wise move from the man they call “Poatan.” Drake earned nearly $ 1.2 million after he bet $675,000 on Pereira to win the main event bout. Pereira was also credited for breaking the Drake Curse after his friend Sean Strickland had failed to do so earlier this year. Alex Pereira is confident in his ability to earn his own money rather than take any from others. In the UFC, he achieved the status of being a two-division champion and became the fastest one to achieve the double champion status.

In the meantime, Pereira is content to bask in the glow of his dominant victory over Hill. Fight fans may be in for a surprise after his recent announcement that he wanted to fight at heavyweight. The UFC has to sign off on any such moves. Only time will tell if fight fans get to see heavyweight ‘Poatan.’

Drake gifted Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann Luxury Time pieces

The rap superstar Drake cashed in big time at UFC London in 2022. This came after two of his favorite UFC fighters, Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann, delivered the goods. Soon after, he was then spreading this wealth around. Drake reportedly won a whopping $3.2 million on a bet featuring Pimblett and McCann’s victories. As any generous high roller would do, he decided to give back to the fighters who made him even more rich.

Drake confirmed that he’ll present McCann and Pimblett with luxury Rolexes. Pimblett and McCann, of course, were already riding high after their impressive victories. McCann defeated Hannah Goldy with a nasty spinning back elbow. Two fights later, Paddy Pimblett finished Jordan Leavitt with a rear naked choke.

The UFC showered them with $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonuses, a nice little payday in their own right. But leave it to Drake to take things to the next level. He turned their big nights into something truly unforgettable.
