On Tuesday, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) revealed the results of the 2026 MLB Hall of Fame voting. After missing out once again, Alex Rodriguez sent a message to Andruw Jones and Carlos Beltran, who got elected.
The three of them were among 27 players on the ballot this year. They were part of the 15 players who returned to the ballot after failing last season. There were a total of 12 first-time eligible players.
As per the BBWAA rules, a player needs a total of 75 per cent votes to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A player will remain on the ballot for 10 years. If, after 10 years, they fail to reach the HOF, they are taken of the ballot.
This was the 9th year Jones was on the ballot. The former Atlanta Braves star picked up 78.4 per cent of votes and earned his place into Cooperstown.
Take a bow, Andruw Jones.

In a post on X, Rodriguez congratulated both of his former New York Yankees teammates and claimed that he was “thrilled” for them.

For Rodriguez, it was another year where he missed out on the Hall of Fame induction. In his 5th year on the ballot, A-Rod received 40 per cent of votes.
While it is way less than the required amount of 75 per cent, it was an increase. Last year, he received 37.1 per cent votes. He now has 5 years remaining on the ballot.

Statistically speaking, Alex Rodriguez is one of the greatest players in MLB history. The American international hit 696 home runs (the 5th most), had 2,086 RBIs, 3,115 hits, picked up 3 American League MVP honors and made 14 All-Star appearances.
However, his connection with performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) has left a dark mark on his career. This is one of the reasons why he was not a 1st ballot Hall of Famer despite his incredible numbers and achievements.
Alex Rodriguez recently claimed that he would feel hollow inside if he went into HOF
Alex Rodriguez once again suffered a Hall of Fame setback as he did not receive the minimum amount to reach Cooperstown. Recently, the 3-time MVP expressed that he would feel hollow inside if he did reach the Hall of Fame.

In an interview with The Athletic last month, A-Rod expressed that he divorced himself from the idea that he would reach the Hall of Fame one day.
If I went to the Hall of Fame, in a weird way, I would be hollow inside. I would still be in a lot of pain.

Much of that thought has come with the assistance of therapy.

Barry Bonds, the MLB home run king, failed to reach the Hall of Fame in 10 attempts as he never received the required number of votes due to accusations of using PEDs. He also failed on the Contemporary Era Ballot in December.
With Bonds failing to make it, Rodriguez could face the same fate and not make it to the HOF on 10 tries despite his amazing numbers.
