The Los Angeles Dodgers are inching closer to another championship. On Monday night, the National League champions dominated the New York Yankees in their own background to take a 3-0 World Series lead. Their performances throughout the series have led to appreciation from Alex Rodriguez.

Following the game, Rodriguez along with Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Kevin Burkhardt discussed the performance on the ‘MLB on Fox’ postgame show. During this, A-Rod gave credit to the Dodgers for their pitching, batting, and fielding.

In Game 3, Freddie Freeman once again got hot as he hit his third home run of the series. Meanwhile, Teoscar Hernandez left the fans in awe with his incredible fielding effort in the fourth inning to throw out Giancarlo Stanton at home plate.

The headlines though belonged to pitcher Walker Buehler. His five-inning shutout performance won the hearts of fans on social media. Reacting to this, Rodriguez compared him to Andy Pettite and Jamie Moyer while pointing out how they became better pitchers despite losing their velocity.

Buehler was fantastic today, and he reminds me of guys like Andy Pettitte and Jamie Moyer who, as they got older, lost velocity but became better pitchers. But look, the Dodgers, Kevin, flat-out put on a masterclass in these first three games. They’ve outplayed them offensively, defensively, and in pitching.

A-Rod’s former team is now on the brink of getting swept. If the Yankees end up losing on Tuesday, the Dodgers will pick up their eighth World Series crown and first since the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

Alex Rodriguez believes the Yankees offense are struggling against fastballs

The offense of the New York Yankees has become a major talking point in this series. Apart from Juan Soto, almost every hitter has struggled at the plate. Alex Rodriguez believes that the reason for this struggle is fastballs.

During the MLB on Fox postgame show, A-Rod claimed that bad hitting could also be “contagious” in baseball.

Look good hitting Kevin is contagious so is bad hitting… I think they all collectively were late and I was right here right behind the dugout and all these guys were late and swinging uphill… When you’re swinging uphill, it’s even more important to be on time. But they’re tardy and when you’re tardy and then you go uphill like golf, they swing on every ball.

Another thing A-Rod pointed out was the body language of the team. Along with David Ortiz, the two former stars discussed how despite the home run from Alex Verdugo in the ninth inning, there was not much of a celebration in the dugout.

The reason for this could be the slump in the form of captain Aaron Judge. In Game 3, Judge went 0-for-3 while drawing a walk. Without his firepower, the Yankees offense has gone quiet.

It all now comes down to Game 4. The Yankees have so far not announced who their starting pitcher for this game would be. With Gerrit Cole starting Game 1 and throwing 88 pitches, he could be the likely candidate to take the mound as the Yanks hope to save the season and live to fight another day on Tuesday.
